Health and role of planets.

Sound Health – Protective factors
1. Strong Lagna and Lagna Lord are the best and most important factors for good
health.
2. Benefics in Kendras : As a rule placement of benefics in Kendra is productive
influence against disease.
Presence of benefics in Trikona is also good
However, this benefics should not be: Grossly afflicted, Retrograde, Debilitated /
combust, and should be favorably placed in divisional charts.
3. Malefics in 3, 6, 11 – Increase capacity to fight back, more they are in these
houses, better a native’s capacity to fight and resistance to deseases.
4. Lagna Lord in Six house is generally indicative of sound healthy.
5. Langa / Lagna Lord surrounded by benefics (Shubha - kartari or benefic
durudhana yoga) – promotes good health.
6. A healthy, unaffiliated, strong, well placed moon – an important for health and
longevity.
7. Saturn in 8th House, Unaffiliated Lagna Lord in 6 or 8 House are additional points.
Unsound Health : Reverse of what leaders to good health, indicates unsounded
health:
1. Weak afflicted Lagna / Lagna Lord
2. Adverse yogas fro Lagna
3. Lagna Lord placed adversely in divisions also.
Both favourable and unfavourable factors must be judiciously balanced in order to
determine the actual state of health.
Lagna Lord in 8th is usually good for health. However, if afflicted in the eighth house
promotes ill – health and may lead to unending incurable suffering.
If there are no benefic in Kendras and only malefics occupy Kendras and trikona
particularly when Lagna Lord and Lagna are afflicted, native suffers prolonged or
repeated illness.
Placement of eighth Lord in Lagna generally indicates a sickly body.
A strong and inflicted Lagna and Lagna Lord are important for good health.
It is better to have no planets in kendras than to home malefic there.
Adverse dasa, afflicting lagna and Lagna Lord tends to produce more intense illness.
It is important to understand that extent of affliction to a planet is important in order to
understand severity of illness. A single affliction is not a serious matter generally. A
double affliction indicates serious disease and triple or multiple affliction leads to incurable diseases.

The bigger plan- A tale about the Gods planning.

Once there was a sweeper in a well known temple and he was very sincere and devoted. Every time he saw thousands of devotees coming to take darshan of the Lord, he thought that the Lord is standing all the time and giving darshan and He must be feeling very tired.

So one day very innocently he asked the Lord whether he can take the place of the Lord for a day so that the Lord can have some relief and rest. The Deity of Temple replied, "I do not mind taking a break. I will transform you like Myself, but you must do one thing. You must just stand here like Me, smile at everyone and just give benedictions. Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything. Remember you are the deity and you just have faith that I have a master plan for everything." The sweeper agreed to this.

The next day the sweeper took the position of the deity and a rich man came and prayed to the Lord. He offered a nice donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous. While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there. Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet.

Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the Hundi and said that it was all he could afford and he prayed to the Lord that he should continue to be engaged in the Lord's service. He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic needs but he left it to the good hands of the Lord to give some solution. When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man. The poor man thanked the Lord for His kindness and took the wallet very innocently. The sweeper in the form of the Deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling.

At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for his safe journey as he was going on a long trip. Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it. Now the sweeper in the form of Deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief but he could not say so and he became greatly frustrated. The sailor looked at the Lord and asked why he, an innocent person, is being punished. The rich man looked at the Lord and thanked Him for finding the thief. The sweeper in the deity form could no more tolerate and he thought that even if the real Lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the wallet. The rich man was very thankful as also the sailor.

In the night, the real Lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was. The sweeper said, "I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing." Then he explained the whole episode to the Lord. The Lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the Lord would appreciate him for the good deed done.

The Lord asked, "Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here? All the donation which the rich man gave was all stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants Me to reciprocate unlimitedly. The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he was having and he gave it to Me out of faith. The sailor might not have done anything wrong, but if the sailor were to go in the ship that night he was about to die because of bad weather and instead if he is arrested he would be in the jail and he would have been saved form a greater calamity. The wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in My service. I was going to reduce the rich man's karma also by doing this and save the sailor also. But you cancelled everything because you thought you know My plan and you made your own plans."

God has plans and justice for everyone....we just have to have patience!!!!!

Dhatu, Moola & Jeeva Divisions of planets
In chapter 3 of Brihat Parashara Hora Shashtra, the sage Parashara has provided a very detailed description of planets and their respective characters. The humanization of the planets is done in order to have an in-depth understanding about the role and activity of the planets in our life.

In verse number 47 - the sage Parashara has classified the planets on the basis of Dhatu, Moola and Jeeva.
Dhatu means metal and is basically related with the materialistic role of planets in the birth chart.

Dhatu are basically the body tissues which are responsible for the functioning of the systems and organs and the structure of the body. Each of the Dhatus is built out of a previous one and they develop on the nourishment that comes from the digestive system. They are basically the result of the action of catalysts that convert one tissue to another. The sole purpose of metabolism is to assemble proper 'Dhatus' together in synchronization with which they carry out their role as the field of physiological activity.

Seven Dhatus Of Ayurveda

Dhatu is originally a Sanskrit word which means 'that which enters into the formation of the body'; the root Daa means 'support' or 'that which bears'.It is thus said to be the the base of growth and survival. According to Ayurveda, there are seven basic types of dhatus in a human body. These seven basic dhatus are composed of five mahabhutas. These dhatus remain inside the human body in a proper equilibrium so that the body can function properly. It is said that any kind of disturbance or imbalance in their equilibrium causes ailments and diseases. The seven dhatus are as follows:

Rasa (Plasma)

Rasa literally means 'sap' or 'juice'. The primary function of 'Rasa' is to strengthen 'rakta' (blood) and provide nourishment. Basically, the tissue fluids consist of lymph and blood plasma. Accessory tissues are the breast milk and the menstrual blood.

Rakta (Blood)

Rakta Dhatu is said to be constituted from the metabolic refinement of the Rasa Dhatu. The primary function of the Rakta Dhatu is the nourishment of the body. It is also said to be the preserver of life.

Mansa (Muscles)

It is formed from the rasa and rakta dhatu and said to be the basic cover of bone and structure of body.

Meda (Fat)

Meda Dhatu are the finer part of the mansa dhatu that are also known as fatty tissue. They keep the lubrication between the various body organs and help the body in maintaining right internal temperature.

Asthi (Bone)

Asthi i.e bones are the finer essence of the Meda Dhatu, which are converted into the most solid form of the Dhatus. They give the basic structure to the body.

Majja (Bone marrow)

Majja is the finer essence of the Asthi Dhatu. It is basically a semi- solid substance, yellow and red in color. Its primary function is filling the bone. It is also found inside the brain and spinal cord.

Shukra (Reproductive fluid or Semen)

Sukra is produced from the most refined essence of the Bone Marrow. It is the cause of Ojas, which is actually the essence of all the seven Dhatus. The Shukra is responsible for vitality and energy of the body.
